We do that for gardening - set the timer for an hour and drop everything
when it goes off - that way you don`t sicken yourself by doing more than
you`d really like! I HAVE used the timer for stitching, but normally I like
to finish one project before starting another - a part done one never seems
as appealing, somehow.

It's a very nice 'Idée' to rotate your work like this. (sorry for the french
word, I didn't know how to spel it otherwise).
Usually I work a design until I'm bord, and change, or start a new one and
forget the first... hi hi hi...
Some months, or year later, when I'm doing a bit of cleaning in the sewing
room, I resume my work until I let it back again.
I have a lot of books or magazines where I pick up some design and put them
togather to do a project, I rearly by a kit.
I did it for my nice, a baby 'sampler' that you can put the name, date of
birth and a picture of the new born. I start it when my sister gived us the
news of the arrival, and finish it for her 2 year anniversary (I have to
tell that I did a Binder with it, like a baby book, but you can put
watherver you whant inside). And all this in the BUS on my way to work, or
back home.
I will keep the tought for the future.
I did put a note on the 20th, for a special chart I'm looking (name : Benoit
Levesque), can somebody help me, or just tell me that your looking into it.
Thanks.

I have five projects in rotation - 2 XS and 3 surface. One of them
has been my swim lesson/baseball game takealong, because it's on 18
count Aida and fairly straigtforward to work with. I have a Marc
Staasad I'm doing on 32 count (I think) - it stays at home for work
under a good light. I also have three surface projects. One is going
on the road with me next week (vacation), because I designed it myself
and don't have to follow anyone's directions, so I can go and stitch
as I please. <VBG> Of the other two, I work on them in odd moments
or when the mood strikes.
This is the most I've ever had going at once - I think I have to make
myself finish something soon!

The English is "idea". [I don't usually comment on spelling, but I
think you asked. :-)]

Add me to this group.
The rest of my life is so time and schedule oriented, I really don't need to
do that for my entertainment!

I know exactly what you mean Caryn - it`s positively relaxing to stitch
someone else`s design and not have to think "Now IS this the right colour?
SHOULD that bit be positioned quite like that?" etc. Not to mention the
leaping up to put on the computer what you`ve just stitched that was
different to the chart - before you forget exactly what you`ve changed! I
could never use a model stitcher - I change too much as I go along!

Thanks everyone for answering my rotation questions.
I really seem to be struggling with getting ANY stitching time in at all.
We moved because of DH's job in record time. (We're talking 7 days from
"You're moving" to movED!)
Anyhow...after things quiet down, I'm hoping that I'll be able to feel
better about having a "loose" rotation where I'll feel allowed to start more
than one project and just work on what calls to me on the day I'm stitching.
