brought to mind a recent thread....

anyone hear the latest on the lawsuit against the woman glassworker on the
glass ring thing????

I'd like to know the state and court where that was filed - if anyone has
information....

Cheryl, I don't know where it's filed, but Jenn lives in Massachusetts. I
don't know where the plaintiff lives. Does selling on ebay meet "minimum
contacts" for the P to file in her home state? I'm so out of touch with law
now, it's not even funny -- is minimum contacts even the test? -- but I like
it that way.

Thanks for the compliments Cheryl, I believe that the ring case goes to
court on the 18th of Jan. I hope for the best and that the plaintiff get
what is coming to her. I know I would get an assault charge added against me
if someone said my ring was involved in this case.

My personal opinion is that it would be darn near impossible for the ring alone
to have caused the loss of a finger... my guess is she had massive trauma to
the hand anyway -
as the plaintiff's lawyer - it wouldn't be beyond me to take a hammer - place a
boro ring on my own finger - and smash it on the defense table... LOL
knowing that if it broke - it would just break and scatter the parts.. not cut
my finger off.

If you could email me off line with all the particulars (party names) of that
case - I'd like to track it ... a professor of mine and I are very interested
in Art Law cases - and we would like to know the outcome...
